Centre for Doctoral Training in Ultra Precision Engineering

Lily graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MSc(Res) in Bioengeering in 2014. Her thesis was an FEA study of the cartilage of the human sacroiliac joint, a continuation of her BEng Mechanical Engineering thesis. During this time she also assisted in the production of a university textbook on the engineering of joint replacements, and taught undergraduate CAD labs. Prior to this, she worked as a CAD draughtsman in Building Services Engineering.  Before starting her MRes/PhD in Ultra Precision Engineering, Lily was working at Edinburgh Biosciences, a company developing laser treatment of cataracts.

Lily attended the Cambridge MRes in 2015/16, starting her PhD in October 2016 under the supervision of Dr Krste Pangovski and advisor Prof Bill O'Neill.
