Biography

Lily graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MSc(Res) in Bioengeering in 2014. Her thesis was an FEA study of the cartilage of the human sacroiliac joint, a continuation of her BEng Mechanical Engineering thesis. During this time she also assisted in the production of a university textbook on the engineering of joint replacements, and taught undergraduate CAD labs. Prior to this, she worked as a CAD draughtsman in Building Services Engineering.  Before starting her MRes/PhD in Ultra Precision Engineering, Lily was working at Edinburgh Biosciences, a company developing laser treatment of cataracts.

Lily attended the Cambridge MRes in 2015/16, starting her PhD in October 2016 under the supervision of Dr Krste Pangovski and advisor Prof Bill O'Neill.
