Dr Renaud Jourdain obtained his PhD in 2005 after successful completion of some researches in Micro-system and Nanotechnology. Then he decided to move to Precision Engineering. From 2008 up to 2012, he was instrumental in the development of a new fast plasma based fabrication process used for the correction of metre scale optics. Since 2012, Dr Jourdain is developing further his research in the field of plasma based energy beams used to correct the form of metre scale surfaces. He is currently supervising two PhD students.
